About us
Oxford Blockchain Society
Oxford Blockchain Society was founded in 2016, making it one of the first and longest-running blockchain societies in the UK. Since then, we have grown into a vibrant and active community of blockchain enthusiasts, with members from across Oxford University and beyond.
Oxford Blockchain Society has been working together with other universities and organizations to advance the growth of the blockchain ecosystem. We have partnered with BitDAO, a leading blockchain research institute, to co-host events and share resources and expertise. We are also collaborating with other university blockchain societies to organize events and initiatives that benefit the broader blockchain community.
As a member-led organization, Oxford Blockchain Society has always been committed to the principles of decentralization and self-governance. We are currently exploring the possibility of becoming a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) in the near future, in order to further align our governance with the values of the blockchain ecosystem. By becoming a DAO, we aim to provide our members with even more control and ownership over the direction and operations of the society.
